Long-time Bryan native Glen Brewer has been named President/CEO of the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Royce Hickman. “Glen has a deep passion for our community and when you combine that with his business acumen and Chamber experience, it’s a great fit”, said David O’Neil, Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board.
Brewer most recently served as Chamber of Commerce Vice President for the past year and a half. Prior to joining the Chamber of Commerce, he was employed by American Momentum Bank in the role of Senior Relationship Manager from 2007 to 2014. In past volunteer roles at the Chamber of Commerce, Brewer has served as the Ambassador Chairman, the Chair of Leadership and Administration, and the Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board from 2013 to 2014. He was also named Ambassador of the Year, Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year, and Leadership Brazos Alumni Association Community Volunteer of the Year.
“I’m so excited to take over the reins of one of the premier chambers in the State of Texas and I look forward to building upon the foundation laid by Royce Hickman, our previous boards and countless volunteers as our community grows”, said Brewer. He will begin his new role on January 1st.
Royce Hickman will transition to a part-time role as the Chamber of Commerce Community Liaison. “I’m thankful I have been given the opportunity to continue in a part time capacity with the Chamber in supporting Glen in his new role, while continuing to work with civic and business leaders in our community as well as representatives of Texas A&M University”, said Hickman.
Royce has served over 19 years as President/ CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and through his leadership has transformed the Chamber into a strong, vibrant organization that supports and enhances the business environment.
“We’re pleased Royce will continue to be involved with the Chamber and assisting during the transition and are thankful for his leadership and dedication to our community”, said David O’Neil. Hickman will begin his new role on January 1st.
