CS School Board Still Reviewing Attendance Zones

The College Station school board isn’t ready to recommend new attendance zones.

Board of Trustees members Tuesday night directed administrators to look at more options district-wide. Trustees want a better socio-economic balance at four of the eight elementaries.

Board Vice President Valerie Jochen talked about further reducing the number on free and reduced lunches at College Hills and South Knoll while increasing the number at Pebble Creek and Forest Ridge.

Jochen also received majority consensus to have administrators look into splitting the student body of each middle school to both high schools.

Trustees agreed to return next Monday to review findings and compare them to recommendations of a study committee.
