A dispute between a taxi rider and an unpermitted taxi driver over a fare early Saturday morning led to an arrest by College Station police.
Officers responded at 2:20 a.m. to the 3500 block of Paloma Ridge Drive, a block north Holleman South and Cain Road.
The driver said the passenger struck him then took his car. The car was found a few blocks away and returned to the driver, who had minor injuries.
Four hours after the initial report, CSPD was called back to the original scene on the report of a man asking to go inside a stranger’s house.
Officers determined the man was the taxi passenger. That led to the arrest of 25 year old Jonathan Ermert of Bryan on a robbery charge. Ermert is out of jail after posting a $10,000 dollar bond.
The CSPD news release did not state if any action was taken against the unpermitted taxi driver
