The city of Bryan invites storm victims from two months ago to meet FEMA and Small Business Administration representatives Tuesday, August 2.
After presentations from the federal agencies, they and city officials will meet individually with Bryan property owners.
Tuesday’s event…which has also been posted as a special meeting of the Bryan city council…starts at 5:30 at the Bryan Justice Center at 29th and Texas.

The City of Bryan will host a public meeting where representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Small Business Administration (SBA) will present information regarding FEMA’s individual assistance program that provides grant assistance to disaster survivors, FEMA’s individual assistance registration and delivery processes, and SBA’s disaster loan program that can provide homeowners and businesses with low interest loans.
Following the FEMA and SBA presentations, city officials and FEMA and SBA officials will meet individually with Bryan property owners whose property has been impacted during severe weather events. Several stations will be available in order to allow privacy during the individual consultations.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in the following location:
Bryan Municipal Court, Second Courtroom
Bryan Justice Center, 401 S. Tabor Avenue
(Corner of Texas Avenue South and East 29th Street)
(Enter parking lot off East 29th Street or Tabor Avenue; enter through doors marked “Court”).
FEMA has also indicated the last day the Disaster Recovery Center at the Bryan High School blue campus will be open is August 3. Individuals who believe they need assistance from FEMA should visit the Disaster Recovery Center before it closes.

Victims of severe weather from two months ago have less time to meet in person with federal officials in Bryan.
FEMA has announced closing its disaster assistance center a week earlier than originally scheduled.
Wednesday, August 3, is the last day for services at Bryan High School’s blue campus.
This is in addition to centers closing Saturday, July 29, at noon in Todd Mission and at 6 p.m. in Somerville.
As of Wednesday, FEMA has distributed about $777,000 dollars from the storms in late May to victims in Brazos County, $582,000 in Grimes County, $290,000 in Burleson County, and just over $1 million in Washington County.
As of July 22, the Small Business Administration reports issuing almost $2 million dollars in loans to residents of the four county area, and another $285,000 in business loans.
