Brazos County commissioners have approved the design of a mural that will be painted in the atrium of the county administration building.
It’s the 13th project in the Art for Life program. Amy Selvaggio of the Arts Council says ART is an acronym for Art Reaching Teens…in this case juvenile offenders who have spent time with local artists over the last eight years.
A deputy director for Brazos County juvenile services, Linda Ricketson, says the most recent murals are at Neal Recreation Center and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments office in Bryan.
Local artist Mike Pinney designed the mural, which is an 8 by 12 foot depiction of downtown Bryan.
The teens will provide 75,000 fingerprints to paint the mural.
