10 p.m. update:
College Station Water Services Director Dave Coleman says a city vacuum truck was sent to the middle school to suck up the estimated 1,000 gallons of chlorine liquid that leaked from a delivery truck and went into a nearby detention pond.
Coleman described said the liquid was about twice as strong as household bleach.
He also said a few small fish were killed.
5 p.m. update:
College Station fire department battalion chief Robert Mumford says about 1,000 gallons of chlorine liquid that had a 10% concentration spilled on the ground in an area about 40 by 30 feet.
In addition to evacuating the building, the heating and air conditioning system was shut down as part of the firefighter’s inspection.
Mumford said the delivery driver was not injured by any exposure to the chlorine liquid.

1 p.m. update:
College Station ISD Communications Director Chuck Glenewinkel says the chlorine leak originated from a delivery truck parked near the natatorium outside the back of the school.
The leak was discovered by the CSMS school resource officer, who notified the fire department.
Glenewinkel says firefighters using sensors detected no chlorine inside the building.
The student body went to the opposite side of the campus from the delivery truck and remained outside for about one hour and 15 minutes.
Glenewinkel says buses were ready to transport students if needed.
Firefighters were notified about 10:30 a.m. and the all clear was given shortly before noon.
Glenewinkel says emergency operating procedures were executed as designed.
The leak, which was outside the school, was not believed to prevent the natatorium to hold its regularly scheduled events.
