Bryan Police Arrest Man Accused of Two Armed Robberies & Gunfire At Witnesses

Bryan police announced the arrest of a local man accused of two armed robberies that took place last month, and for firing a gun at witnesses after one of the holdups.

23 year old Peter Olsen is one of the suspects in holdups at Pepe’s restaurant and the Autopartners Insurance office on January 22.

According to police, Olsen also fired a gun at a vehicle containing four people on Ehlinger following the Pepe’s robbery.

Olsen was taken into custody following a standoff of more than three hours at a home south of the Bryan city cemetery.

BPD officers saw Olsen enter a home Saturday during the midnight hour in the 800 block of Denise.

Police removed two adults and two children from the home as well as evacuating residents from homes on both sides.

Members of BPD’s emergency response and crisis negotiation teams talked to Olsen until 3:30 a.m., when he surrendered without incident.

Olsen is being held in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $575,000 dollars. In addition to charges from the armed robberies and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Olsen was also arrested on a charge of harassment while he was an inmate in the Dawson County jail, located in the west Texas town of Lamesa.

Update February 4, 2016:

Bryan police has identified one of two people accused of a January 24th armed robbery at Pepe’s restaurant.

According to a BPD news release, DPS asked the Bryan Police Department to assist in contacting the registered owner of a vehicle involved in a pursuit at an address on Warren Circle.

While at that location, officers observed items possibly related to the armed robbery that took place the same evening.

After obtaining a search warrant and collecting evidence, BPD identified the masked subject in surveillance video as 23 year old Peter Russel Olsen of Bryan.

Olsen, who BPD considers to be considered armed and dangerous, is wanted on multiple felony warrants including aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

According to online jail records, Olsen was sentenced in December 2010 to a total of five years for assaulting a family member, assaulting a public servant, violating two protective orders, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

BPD asks anyone who has information about Olsen or the identity of the second person to call 979-361-3888 or Brazos County Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS.

Authorities are looking for two people accused of an armed robbery inside a Bryan restaurant.

After leaving Pepe’s on South Texas, one of the two fired multiple shots at a vehicle that was pulling into their driveway in the 100 block of Ehlinger.

None of the three inside the restaurant and four inside the car were injured. One of the bullets struck the driveway carport.

No suspect descriptions were released.
