News release from the Texas Department of Transportation:
The Texas Department of Transportation closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of Old San Antonio Road (OSR) at the Navasota River due to water over the roadway.
Barricades were placed on OSR at FM 1940 on the Brazos County side and on OSR at FM 1452 on the Madison County side earlier today.
The Navasota River continues to rise and is not expected to crest until late tonight (Tuesday) or Wednesday morning.
The roadway will remain closed until the water recedes and pavement can be checked for any damages.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Alternate routes and updated road conditions can be found at DriveTexas.org.
