Texas A&M’s Olsen Field was named one of 16 regional sites for the 65th annual NCAA Division I Baseball Championship the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee announced on Sunday afternoon.
By virtue of being awarded a regional, all 16 host institutions have also been selected to the 64-team field. This marks the school-record fifth consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament for the Aggies and the 27th overall selection to the tournament field.
This also marks the eighth time Oslen Field will host an NCAA Regional and the first since 2008. Texas is the only other Big 12 school to be selected to host a regional, while Rice and TCU will also host regional tournaments in the Lone Star State.
Each regional field features four teams, playing a double-elimination format. All 16 regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, June 3, to Monday, June 6.
The remaining at-large teams, top-eight national seeds, first-round regional pairing and site assignments will be announced on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Central during a live, half-hour program on ESPN.
