Memorial Day weekend was the targeted completion of replacing and converting overhead electric lines at 22 locations around College Station.
That was the timeline when the College Station city council at its April 24th meeting, awarded a contract not to exceed $373,405.88.
The electric department’s assistant director, Glenn Gavit, was asked about moving those lines underground and the types of electric poles that are used.
Gavitt said electric lines are moved underground as homes are being renovated. And the type of replacement electric poles are bases on individual circumstances.
