The College Station Hilton was the setting Monday morning for local elementary school students decorating Christmas trees.

The Hilton’s Brian Hutchinson says 27 classes and nearly 600 students filled the hotel’s hallways decorating donated trees that are going to those who would not otherwise have one.

A second grader at Ben Milam, Ashanti, helped wrap a paper chain and made an ornament for their tree.

The trees will be on display until Tuesday, when Hutchinson says they will be delivered for recipients to enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
