The collision of a fullsize pickup and fullsize SUV early Saturday morning at Texas and Holleman resulted in two deaths, two injuries, and four escaping injury.
College Station Police responded to the crash Saturday morning at 2:38. The intersection was closed for about five hours.
Officer Rhonda Seaton says those who died and were injured were all in the SUV. Killed were two passengers, 19 year old Lauren Crisp of College Station and 18 year old Denton Ward of Flower Mound. Injured were the driver, 19 year old Samantha Bean of College Station and a third passenger, 19 year old Tanner Giesen of Highland Village.
Seaton says four were in the pickup, and none were hurt due to all wearing seat belts.
Investigators were told the northbound SUV failed to stop for the red light. The eastbound pickup struck the driver’s side of the SUV. The impact caused the SUV to spin, with the rear of the vehicle striking a light pole at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Seaton says the intersection will be closed Sunday morning between 7 and 11 as investigators continue to collect information. Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route going to and from church and other activities.
