1st Brazos County Budget Public Hearing is Friday

Brazos County Commissioners hold the first of two public hearings on next years budget Friday afternoon.

County Judge Duane Peters says there is money to renovate the fourth floor of the courthouse.

Peters also says that includes the first pay raise for employees in three years.

The budget also calls for no increase in the employee’s share of paying for county health insurance.

Commissioners have recommended a budget for next year that proposes an increase in the effective tax rate of almost two percent.
