Update 8:00 p.m.:
After an investigation by University Police Department it was determined that the bomb threat was a hoax. The threat was sent to a staff member through the Texas A&M University Library Chat Resource Service. Investigators were able to determine that the threat was sent from a computer within the Goose Creek Independent School District in Baytown, Texas.
Officers from the Baytown Police Department were contacted and responded to the school district. They were able to determine that the threat was sent by a 16 year old male juvenile. He was arrested and transported to the Baytown Police Department. He was charged with terroristic threat, a third degree felony, punishable by 2-10 years imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a fine up to $10,000. He was later released to his parents.
As of 5:00 p.m. Monday, the Sterling C. Evans Library and adjoining facilities were reopened.
Update 4:25 p.m.:
The Student Computing Center has reopened. Evans Library will reopen at 5 pm today.
Update 3:00 p.m.:
After an extensive investigation by University Police and other emergency personnel it was determined that the bomb threat reported this morning was a hoax. All four buildings remain closed until further notice.
Update 1:05 p.m.:

At approximately 11 am today the University Police Department was notified of a bomb threat at Evans Library that was received through electronic communications. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the building. The library and adjoining facilities such as the Library Annex, Cushing Library and the Student Computing Services building were evacuated and secured. At this time emergency personnel are awaiting bomb dogs from the Houston area Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). It is unknown what time the buildings will be reopened. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Update 12:15 p.m.:
Evans Library, Evans Library Annex, Cushing Library, and the Student Computing Center have been evacuated. These facilities will remain closed until further notice. Expect these closures for at least the next several hours. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The Evans Library on the Texas A&M campus is currently evacuated after a bomb threat was reported.
University officials issued a Code Maroon alert at 11:25 a.m., asking people to avoid the scene and advising that emergency personnel were there.
The threat comes on A&M’s redefined day, in which students attended Friday classes on Monday. Tuesday is also scheduled for redefinition and is the final day of fall semester classes before finals begin on Friday.
