New C.C. Creations Production Facility In Bryan Hosts Tour Of Japanese Executives

The Bryan based national manufacturer of custom printed and embroidered shirts and caps and other promotional products hosts a delegation from Japan in their new production facility. It was the first public viewing of C.C. Creations 210,000 square foot Legacy Campus. Owner Kenny Lawson hosted the C-E-O and other executives of Tajima Industries, an 80 year old Japanese manufacturer of embroidery machines. 22 embroidery machines at the new C.C. Creations facililty is most of any Tajima customer. Lawson, Tajima CEO Hidetoshi Kojima, and executives of both companies visited during the tour and a private meeting that followed about increasing the performance the computer and AI (artificial intelligence) operated machines. The new C.C. Creations facility began production in March and employs almost 600. Lawson says the interior temperature of the new production facility is 78 degrees. That compares with 117 degrees in their former location. Cooler temperatures and new equipment are also credited with reducing misprints by 66 percent. Among C.C. College Station City Council Does Not Support Amazon’s FAA Application To Add More Drone Flights

The College Station city council will send a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration that it does not support Amazon’s application to expand drone delivery. Public comments can be e-mailed to the FAA about Amazon’s drone application until July 12th at 9-FAA-Drone-Environmental@faa.gov. The council’s decision followed comments from ten public speakers and written comments from six others. All were opposed to Amazon’s application. Click below to hear comments from Kimberly McAdams, the president of the Foxfire homeowners association and a College Station ISD school board member, and from College Station council members Mark Smith, Dennis Maloney, and Bob Yancy.   According to the city council’s recap on the city’s blog site, “the council expressed support for quieter drones and increased delivery range but does not support Amazon Prime Air’s application to expand drone delivery until a more appropriate location and sound mitigation is established due to the impact on nearby residents. The council said it supports drone technology and Amazon’s innovative efforts. As the testing home for this and other technology development initiatives, the city takes its role in providing community feedback seriously. The city hopes its feedback helps Amazon in the continued development of a program that advances technology and benefits all.”
