Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond continues to advocate for the removal of the Sul Ross statue, despite the administration not saying they they will take it down.
Mond released a written statement on Twitter Tuesday night, saying the racial injustices Ross committed during his time as a Texas Ranger and Confederate General warrant the removal of his monument.

Mond is one of several Aggie athletes who is calling for the removal of the statue. Current linebacker Anthony Hines III and former safety Armani Watts have also voiced their disapproval of the monument on Twitter.
Ross served as Texas A&M’s 7th president from 1891-1898 and his statue has stood outside of the academic building since 1919.
