Texas A&M Tennis Adds ITA All-American

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The National Champion Texas A&M women’s tennis team added graduate transfer Ava Hrastar from Ole Miss to the 2024-25 roster, head coach Mark Weaver announced Friday.

The graduate from Duluth, Georgia, joins the Aggies from Ole Miss where she spent the year at the top of the Rebels’ lineup in both singles and doubles last season. She secured 14 singles wins to pair with another 13 in doubles. Prior to Hrastar’s time in Oxford she spent four years at Georgia Tech, where she was named an ITA All-American in doubles and was listed on the All-ACC Third Team. She also accumulated 42 singles wins and 45 doubles wins during her time with the Yellow Jackets.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Ava Hrastar,” Weaver said. “She brings a wealth of experience to our team. Ava was as an ITA All-American during her time at Georgia Tech and played No. 1 singles and doubles for a solid SEC team in Ole Miss. She will be a great addition to our team and will help fill in the puzzle as we continue forward to next season chasing our ultimate goals of bringing back a second national title to Aggieland.”

Hrastar also shines in the classroom, as she’s picked up a plethora of honors throughout her career, including being named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. She was also added to the ACC All-Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll again in the 2021 and 2022 season.
