The first two games of the Collegiate Summer Baseball Invitational were held Thursday night at Travis Field in Bryan.
It marked the first games featuring college players since the season was stopped in mid-March because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Lamar’s Chase Kemp went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead Team Liberty to an 11-10 win in 10 innings over Team Unity in Game One.
Meanwhile, Oregon State’s Wade Meckler smacked an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give Team Freedom an 8-7 walk-off win over Team Indepence in Game Two.
The second round of the double-elimination tournament continues Friday with games at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Broadcast will be via pay-per-view on csbi2020.com.
