Arnie Gets Pacemaker, Released From Hospital Today

Arnold Palmer has had a pacemaker implanted to correct an abnormal heartbeat. According to his website, Palmer had successful surgery Monday at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. The 84-year-old Palmer was expected to be released from the hospital on Tuesday.

Pearland Wins In Little League World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) _ Layne Roblyer hit his second home run of the tournament to help Pearland to an 11-4 victory over Lynnwood, Washington, yesterday in the Little League World Series. Roblyer had a three-run shot in the third inning against Lynnwood. Pearland will play Chicago tonight.
