Brazos County commissioners next Tuesday will consider requiring businesses to require masks be worn by employees and visitors.
That’s after commissioner Nancy Berry added the item to next week’s agenda during this week’s meeting.
County judge Duane Peters, who favors strong encouragement instead of an ordinance, says there are no county employees to provide enforcement.
Commissioner Irma Cauley supports the mandate and agrees the county does not have employees to enforce it.
Berry says similar county regulations have been enacted in Harris, Bexar, Dallas, and Travis counties.
