College Station City Council Supports New Fees For Controlled Burn Permits

Four of five College Station city council members at the last workshop meeting endorsed adding fees to developers and other property owners wanting permits to conduct outdoor controlled burns.

The proposal from fire marshal Eric Dotson was the result of multiple responses, addressing various issues with controlled burns.

Anyone requesting a burn permit would pay for any fire department resources.

A ten day commercial permit would cost $500 dollars, and a ten day residential permit would cost $50 dollars.
