Wydermyer, a Mackey Award Finalist, holds the all-time A&M record among tight ends in career receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.
The Dickinson, TX product finished the 2021 season with 40 catches for 515 yards and four touchdowns.
Wydermyer joins a growing list of Aggies who will miss the up-coming Gator Bowl against No. 17 Wake Forest.
