SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The No. 11 Texas A&M women’s golf team had its best round of the Alamo Invitational, shooting a 1-under 287 to close the tournament at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. Maddie Szeryk led the Aggies on Tuesday, shooting a 2-under 70.
The Aggies finished the tournament in 11th place, shooting an 894 (+30) for the three-round tournament. Szeryk led all A&M finishers in a tie for 23rd with a 220 (+4)
Tuesday’s round was A&M’s sixth par-or-better round of the season, which ranks second in A&M history, trailing only last season’s 13 par-or-better rounds.
Bianca Fabrizio used an eagle on No. 13 to shoot an even-par 72 on the par 72 / 6,450 yard course. She shot a 224 (+8) for the tournament to finish in a tie for 33rd.
Andrea Jonama joined Fabrizio in the tie for 33rd at 224, after finishing the tournament with a 74 (+2) in a round that featured 3 birdies.
Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a 1-under 71 in the final round, finishing the tournament with a 226 (+10). Callie Scheffler posted a 76 (+4) in the third round and shot 236 (+20) in the tournament, placing 73rd.
Chloe Velasco, who competed as an individual, shot an 85 (+13), shooting a 240 (+31) for the tournament, finishing in 78th place.
Florida won the event with a score of 858 (-9). The Gators’ Maria Torres won medalist honors with a 210 (-6).
This event concludes the Aggies’ fall season. Texas A&M ramps up its spring season on Feb. 12-14 at the Florida State Match-Up, where A&M’s Bianca Fabrizio will look to defend her individual title from a year ago.
