News release from the Texas Department of Transportation Bryan district office:
The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will continue the construction of the new pavement in the Rock Prairie Road and SH 6 frontage road intersections this weekend. This work will require narrowing the pavement width available for drivers.
General traffic should not be greatly affected. However, right turning movements for large trucks will be restricted due to narrow turn areas. Large vehicles will be required to drive straight through the intersections and make their desired turns at the next available safe intersection. These restrictions will begin at 9 pm on Friday night, November 7th, and the intersections will be reopened to all maneuvers on Sunday, November 9th.
TxDOT ask that drivers pay attention to the traffic control signage, beware of large vehicles that may be unaware of the restricted turning movements, and especially watch for workers in the center of the roadway who will be working with traffic on both sides of them.
