Winter Storm Fern left .49 hundredths of an inch of moisture at Easterwood Airport.

Sunday’s low temperature of 20 was off the record for January 25th of 12 in College Station that was set in 1894.

Sunday’s high temperature of 31 was near the record of the lowest high temperature for January 25th in College Station, which was 30 in 1897.

Monday’s low temperature was 19, which was near the record for January 26th in College Station of 16 that was set in 1904.

The organization in charge of the warming center in downtown Bryan says on Saturday night (January 24), they had 16 people spend the night. The warming center at the Bryan First Methodist Church is open through Wednesday. Volunteers are still need to staff the center. More information is on the Facebook page Sweet Oak Collaborative.

The winter storm resulted in College Station police responding to multiple crashes.

CSPD’s Facebook page has photos of a SUV being dragged out of an apartment along Harvey Road east of Veterans Park. No one inside the apartment was injured, while the driver was taken to the hospital for an evaluation of unknown injuries. The westbound SUV went through the fence and flipped into the apartment.

Another crash involved a car that struck a power pole at Welsh and Balcones. That resulted in a power outage for about 500 customers in part of the Southwood Valley neighborhood.

And CSPD officers who caught a 16 year old who was driving recklessly was released to the teen’s parents. Nothing was said if the teen was ticketed.

No crashes were reported on the social media of Bryan and Texas A&M police or the Brazos County sheriff’s office.

No weekend activity was reported on the fire department social media from the cities of College Station and Bryan or the Brazos County departments in precinct 2, 3, and 4.
