A disturbance at a Bryan apartment complex Saturday night led to a police standoff with a man who spent two hours on the roof of a two story apartment building. According to the Bryan police arrest report, 34 year old Jose Martin Diaz Jr. of Bryan is accused of damaging his mother’s apartment, breaking into a second floor apartment, and while on the roof threatening to kill officers. After Diaz voluntarily came off the roof, he was arrested on new charges of criminal trespassing and evading arrest with a prior conviction. He was also arrested on three warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from last November and a warrant for drug possession from November two years ago. Diaz is held in jail without bond on a parole violation charge.
A College Station man is arrested on a charge of driving with an invalid license with six prior convictions in the last seven years. That’s after a Bryan police officer stopped a car Saturday morning for not having a front license plate. According to the BPD arrest report, the driver had the front plate inside the car because he was waiting for a bracket to secure the plate. The officer also learned the driver had his license suspended through September of 2023. 30 year old Abdullah Abou-Shilh is out of jail after posting a $2,000 dollar bond.
Six months after a shoplifting at the Towerpoint H-E-B store, a College Station woman is arrested on a charge of trying to leave with more than $1,300 dollars of merchandise. According to the College Station police report, surveillance video was used to identify the getaway vehicle from the May 24th incident. Most of the items were left behind after a store employee took control of the shopping carts. 21 year old Dianne Hutson, who was arrested on Saturday, is out of jail after posting a $4,000 dollar bond.
