Bryan police arrest a man during the midnight hour Sunday (March 24) for misusing the 9-1-1 dispatch system to cause multiple unfounded responses by emergency personnel. The BPD arrest report says 37 year old Julian McAfee of College Station called dispatchers six times in less than four hours. The last call came with officers and firefighter-paramedics still on the scene, after firefighters determined there was no medical reason to transport the man to the hospital. McAfee asked dispatchers if there was any way to get a ride to the hospital. McAfee remains in jail as of March 26th in lieu of a $5,000 dollar bond.
A Bryan police officer spotting a man wanted for an arrest warrant for failing to identify led to bringing out BPD’s direct deployment team and several more patrol officers. Friday night’s incident (March 22), which took place near Crockett elementary school, also involved several unmarked police vehicles. The BPD arrest report says when an officer saw the man running away with a gun in his right hand, there was an attempt to knock down the man with a vehicle. After that failed, the man tripped and fell twice. After the second fall, the gun fell out of the man’s hand and he was taken into custody. 20 year old Tereious Adams of Bryan was arrested on new charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon that was reported stolen from Austin, along with evading, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Adams remains jailed as of March 26th in lieu of bonds totaling $21,000 dollars.
A Texas A&M police officer finds a stolen car owned by the University of Texas in the parking garage of a College Station apartment complex. The UPD arrest report says U-T police had video of the driver taking car. The driver, who was found asleep, told the U-P-D officer he bought the car in Taylor from someone whose name he did not know. 24 year old Darian Taylor of Bryan was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and six warrants from Brazos County district court. Those warrants involve three felony and three misdemeanor cases dating back to 2017. Jail records show Taylor, who is in the Brazos County jail for the 21st time since January 2017, is being held without bond on the district court warrants and a $5,000 dollar bond following his arrest for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
