Wednesday Afternoon Wildfire Update

Leon County lifted its wildfire evacuation order Wednesday afternoon.  Emergency Management Coordinator Pat Bell says that could be rescinded depending on weather conditions.  Bell says seven firefighters have been injured.  Two were burned and five sustained smoke inhalation.  Wildfires have destroyed 31 homes, 56 other buildings, and two churches.  4,810 acres were burned.

In Grimes County, mandatory evacuations remains for the following areas:  Lake Holly Hills, Foxfire Subdivision, area immediately behind the Texas Renn Fest (Renfair Drive, Tammy Circle, Devin Court, CR 303), Plantation Lakes (off Riley Road), and Saddlecreek Subdivsion (off Riley Road).
