The TxDOT Bryan district office has announced the creation of a website to provide the latest information about the upcoming expansion of Earl Rudder Freeway.
The $671 million dollar project, which begins December 1, will expand the main lanes from four to six (three in each direction), reconfigure auxiliary lanes, and introduce collector-distributor lanes at key locations to support safer and more efficient merging.
The project also includes upgrading interchanges to improve traffic flow, and new shared use paths will be added to accommodate both bicycles and pedestrians.
The website, txdot.gov/thebig6, includes a video on the project.
