Washington Man Hit Twice in Road

A Washington man died early Sunday morning after being hit twice by vehicles.

Dispatchers say Charles Sweed, Jr., 30, was lying in the road about half a mile outside of Washington on FM 1370 when he was struck by the car of a Navasota woman.

He had been hit earlier by someone who did not stop and who hasn’t been found.

Troopers from the surrounding areas worked the scene for about five hours, and investigation continues.
