Vehicle Repossession Leads to Shooting

A tow truck driver is accused of shooting a person during an attempted vehicle repossession.

Bryan Police reports the unidentified man who was shot is in critical condition at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

The tow truck driver, who has a concealed handgun license, told investigators he fired multiple shots after the owner of the vehicle assaulted him with his hands and a long wooden handle.

The name of the driver was not released, but police report he works for MARS wrecker service. He received minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

The shooting took place Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of Ehlinger.
