College Station police responding Friday morning (May 23) to calls of someone attempting to break into vehicles leads to an arrest and the recovery of stolen property.

23 year old Marquise Shields of College Station, who was apprehended after jumping over a fence, was charged with committing three vehicle burglaries, theft of a handgun, unlawful possession of a gun by a convicted felon, and evading arrest.

Shields is also jailed on a hold for a parole violation. Online Brazos County court records shows Shields pleaded guilty to burglarizing homes in 2018 and 2019. He was sentenced in November 2019 to a ten year prison term.
