Two Women Assaulted During Separate Incidents at Bryan Apartment Complex This Weekend

Bryan Police are investigating two assaults that took place at the Brookside Apartments in the 1500 block of East 29th Street over the weekend.

A woman reported being attacked around 10:30pm on Saturday night (August 8, 2026). She says she was physically assaulted by an unknown male suspect. The victim sustained minor injuries after being struck in the face and declined medical treatment.

Officers received a second call to the complex at approximately 1:18 am on Sunday morning (August 9, 2026). This victim says she was also attacked and physically assaulted by an unknown male suspect. During this assault, the suspect took the woman’s cellphone. She sustained minor injuries after being struck in the face and declined medical treatment.

Police believe the attacks are connected. They are searching for the identity of a man caught on video around the time of the attacks. BPD has posted video of the man on their social media accounts.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with a thin build. He was reported to be wearing a black ball cap with an orange bandana underneath.

The Bryan Police Department understands that incidents of this nature can be concerning, particularly for residents of the apartment community.  Officers have increased their presence in the area and are working with apartment management as the investigation continues.  Residents are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and promptly report suspicious activity.
