Two Houston Men Accused Of A Bryan Cell Phone Store Theft Are Caught With The Help Of A Stolen Tracking Device

Two Houston men accused of breaking into a Bryan cell phone store Sunday morning around 5:30 apparently didn’t know they took a GPS tracking device, which police used in finding them in Hempstead.

According to the arrest report, 27 year old McKindley Allen and 23 year old Daleon Fontennet used a battery operated saw to carve through sheet rock of an adjoining store to get into the west Bryan AT&T store.

They are accused of causing $10,000 dollars of damage, along with taking 30 cell phones and two Apple watches with a total value of more than $24,000 dollars, and almost $1,600 dollars in cash.

In addition to the tracking device, BPD received surveillance video from a neighboring store that showed the getaway car.

A Hempstead police officer stopped the car and spotted sheet rock dust inside the car and found in the trunk a trash can filled with cell phones.

Both men were taken to the Brazos County jail, where bonds were set at $75,000 dollars apiece on charges of burglary, felony theft, and unlawful use of a criminal instrument. Fontennet posted bond on Tuesday. Allen remained in jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
