Brazos County commissioners are told during this week’s meeting that two sheriff’s office employees have been off work due to coronavirus for eight or nine months.

When sheriff Wayne Dicky was asked by commissioner Nancy Berry if he anticipates them returning to work, Dicky said “not at this time.”

The sheriff said both are experiencing “significant long term effects”. Both require oxygen and one is in a wheelchair.

Dicky also reported for the fifth time in the last six weeks, no jail inmates have tested positive or are in quarantine.
