Two Brazos County Jail Inmates Face New Criminal Charges

Two Brazos County jail inmates face new criminal charges following incidents at the detention center.

33 year old Brandon Reed of Bryan, who is awaiting trial in two murders…one in November of 2015 and another in April of 2016….was charged with beating another inmate last August. According to the arrest report, the victim was struck eight times, resulting in facial injuries that included a broken nose and fractures in the sinus cavity and around an eye socket. The attack occurred after the victim returned a razor to a detention officer.

Last Friday, another inmate is accused of threatening a detention officer before and after the inmate would be moved to a disciplinary cell. According to the arrest report, 37 year old Clarence Johnson of Navasota is also accused of throwing a punch at the officer, making slight contact with the officer’s upper left cheek. Other officers used pepper spray to get the inmate under control. Johnson is awaiting trial for breaking into a home last April and throwing a brick at a child.
