Two Brazos County jail inmates face additional charges for actions while being held.

A Brazos County jail deputy moving an inmate to a clean cell is assaulted by the inmate. The deputy was treated at an urgent care center for scratch marks and abrasions to his face and neck. The inmate, 45 year old Peng Yu of College Station, was arrested for assaulting the deputy. Yu has been held since October of 2024 in lieu of bonds totaling $320,000 dollars while awaiting a trial on four counts of felony obstruction or retaliation.

A Bryan woman who has been in the Brazos County jail since mid-August now has a charge of spitting at an EMT who was trying to give the inmate her medication. 31 year old Morgan Severn, who is awaiting a trial on a misdemeanor charge of family violence assault causing bodily injury, was arrested for harassing the EMT. Severn remains held as of November 4 in lieu of bonds totaling $18,000 dollars.
