Two Brazos County jail inmates face additional charges of assaulting detention officers last Thursday (October 2).
One sheriff’s office arrest report says 28 year old Sedrick Darnell of College Station struck a detention officer in the face and head multiple times. Darnell is awaiting trial on charges that took place May 29th of breaking into an apartment, striking a child three times in the face with a closed fist, then leading officers on a chase at speeds nearing 130 miles per hour. Darnell is held as of October 6th on bonds totaling $404,000 dollars.
Another sheriff’s office arrest report says 21 year old Madalyn Alonso of Anderson bit a detention officer who was moving her to a disciplinary cell. Alonso has been in jail since September 22nd after she was arrested for assaulting a Bryan police officer while trying to evade arrest. Alonso is held as of October 6th in lieu of bonds totaling $33,000 dollars.
Both detention officers were evaluated by medical staff.
