Two Brazos County Bridges Are Being Replaced

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Bryan district office has announced construction will begin Tuesday to replace two bridges on rural Brazos County roads.

One is on Dilly Shaw Tap Road over Cedar Creek. Signs will be placed on Dilly Shaw Tap at the intersection of Jack Creek and Fickey Roads showing that the road is closed one mile ahead. All through traffic will be detoured around this closure to FM 2038 and FM 974.

The other location is Scasta Lane over Town Branch. There will be an on-site detour provided at the bridge. Traffic will be rerouted to the north side of and around the construction.

The one lane bridges that are being removed are being replaced with 24 foot wide structures that will allow two lanes of traffic.

Weather permitting, TxDOT expects the new Dilly Shaw Tap bridge to be completed next March, and the new Scasta Lane bridge next April.
