A former assistant manager of a Dollar General store in Bryan tells Bryan police she illegally marked down prices on merchandise. The BPD arrest report says the estimated loss during a three week period in April of last year was $7,000 dollars. 29 year old Delia Serna told officers she was trying to get merchandise…some discontinued…off the shelves. A BPD officer who asked Serna why she changed prices, the arrest report says “everything was expensive and she was just helping her mom out. With the random people, when they did not have enough to pay for it she would change the price.” Serna, who was booked in the Brazos County jail on June 4, was released the next day after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.
A Bryan man who goes to jail for the 16th time since November 2017 is also facing trials in six other criminal cases. Bryan police arrest reports say 30 year old Lloyd Freeman is accused of going to a neighbor’s house this week (June 4) and taking two containers of freon, three mowers, and 12 boxes of flooring. The victim found two of the mowers in the suspect’s yard. BPD officers with a search warrant went inside the suspect’s home and found the boxes of flooring that were identified in part by the crayon scribbles made by the victim’s daughter. Freeman, who was charged with burglary of the home, burglary of a shed, and resisting arrest, is also held on a warrant from a pending trial on drug charges. As of June 5, he remains held in lieu of bonds totaling $36,000 dollars. Online court records show Freeman is awaiting five trials on drug charges from 2023 and 2024 and resisting arrest in 2022.
