Two Aggies Earn ABCA All-Midwest Region Accolades

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies had two players named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Midwest Region team the ABCA announced on Tuesday.

Starting pitcher Daniel Mengden and shortstop Mikey Reynolds garnered All-Midwest Region Second Team recognition as voted on by the region’s coaches.

Mengden went 8-4 on the mound with a 2.11 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 110.2 innings. He held opponents to a .201 batting average and logged two complete games. In league play, Mengden posted a 4-2 record with a 1.88 ERA, one complete-game and 56 strikeouts in 10 starts.

Reynolds hit .342 with 15 doubles, one triple, one home run and 25 RBI in 61 games. He led the squad with a .413 on-base percentage, 43 runs and 19 stolen bases. In SEC action, Reynolds hit .292 with 15 runs, seven doubles, one triple, 10 RBI and five stolen bases.

Mengden and Reynolds both earned All-SEC Second Team honors as voted on by the league’s coaches. Mengden was also named to the SEC All-Defensive Team.
