Traffic Violations Leads To Bryan Police Arrests Of Two Men On Multiple Warrants

Three Bryan police officers are involved in arresting a man on charges related to nine Brazos County court cases. BPD arrest reports say 20 year old Cedric Dewayne Lewis of College Station was a passenger in a S-U-V that was stopped for running a stop sign. Lewis faces charges that includes engaging in organized criminal activity, vehicle burglaries, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possessing marijuana. Lewis, who was arrested October 18, has not had bond set as of on the charge of engaging in organized criminal activity and a felony charge of possessing marijuana. Bonds on seven other charges totals $210,000 dollars. The driver of the car and two other passengers with Lewis were also arrested for unlawful carrying of handguns because they were all under the age of 21.

Failing to stop behind the white line lands a College Station man in jail on ten warrants. Arrest reports from Bryan police say during the traffic stop, the driver gave a fake name and did not have a driver’s license. Online records say the 28 year old Derrick Smith had five warrants from Brazos County courts. Three of those warrants involve failing to serve jail time for failing to identify, misdemeanor theft and possession of marijuana. And Smith had five warrants from Bryan municipal court for traffic infractions.
