Toyo Ink Approves Bryan Expansion

Local economic development officials received the news they wanted to hear from Tokyo.

Todd McDaniel of the Research Valley Partnership says Toyo Ink will proceed with a $6 million dollar expansion of their plant in Bryan.

That follows the city council’s approval to amend its tax abatement agreement saving Toyo $13,000 in property taxes over the next five years. The city will receive $53,000. And the length of the agreement didn’t change, meaning Toyo is still scheduled to pay full property taxes in six years.

McDaniel says the proposal now goes before Brazos County officials. 20 new jobs with a $1 million dollar payroll goes with the expansion.

McDaniel says adjusting the tax schedule is a “small act which further solidified Toyo Ink’s committment to making The Research Valley their North American production headquarters.”
