Tonight Is The First Public Meeting About The New Robertson County Jail And Sheriff’s Office

Bremond is the first stop in a series of public meetings for Robertson County residents to provide input on the new sheriff’s office and jail.

Sheriff Gerald Yezak says Thursday night’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Bremond High School cafetorium.

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards has ordered a new jail. The sheriff says the state will have final approval on the design, but county commissioners want to collect local opinions.

Yezak says land is currently being cleared on the site of the new jail and offices off Highway 79 in Franklin, an architect has been hired, and the search is underway for a construction manager at risk.
