Three Convicted Five Years After Their Arrests In A Grimes County Armed Robbery And Assault

In May of 2019, the Grimes County sheriff’s office responded to a report of a man who was beaten in a pasture near Iola during a drug deal where the victim was left after his clothing was removed.

Four people were arrested shortly after the incident. Grimes County district court online records show three of the four were convicted last year and sentenced to prison. The fourth person who was arrested was not listed in Grimes County district court online records.

27 year old Sebastian Portales of Bryan was sentenced in June 2024 to 10 years, 28 year old Carl Holmes Jr. of Bryan was sentenced in October 2024 to nine years, and 27 year old Chasiti Clark of Iola was sentenced in October 2024 to seven years.
