More than $2,000  of merchandise was recovered Tuesday night when Bryan Police caught three thieves.

Officer Kelley McKethan says around 8:30, officers responded to a shoplifting in progress at the Bryan Wal-Mart store.

McKethan says after detaining the subjects and investigating, police found that the same type of theft had occurred one hour earlier at the College Station Wal-Mart, with a loss of merchandise worth $1,600.

Darren Brown, 28, Latrice Randle, 28, and Blanche Buckner, 54, all of Houston, were charged with two counts of theft each, with one for Bryan and one for College Station.

She says the merchandise stolen was primarily baby formula, with a few other types of items, such as clothing.
