Thefts of electric scooters and bicycles on the Texas A&M campus took a break of 17 days during the holidays.

University police (UPD) received two theft reports last Saturday (January 3) and seven reports between December 12th and 17th.

That makes 48 thefts of two-wheeled electric vehicles since the Monday before last Thanksgiving.

20 of the 48 thefts have been outside residence halls.

UPD’s recommendations to reduce the chance of theft includes attaching an internal GPS tracker and whenever possible removing the battery pack.
