A 25 year old Bryan man is out of the Brazos County jail for the second time in eight days, the sixth time this year, and the 31st time in eight years. Gary Eastep’s latest arrest was for evading arrest from Bryan police. According to the arrest report, last Friday he is accused of being in a disturbance where he smashed the windshield of a woman’s car with a pumpkin. An officer reported Eastep drove away at an unsafe speed. That forced the officer to stop the chase due to the risk it presented to the general public. Eastep was found on Monday, and on Tuesday he was released from jail after posting bond. At the time of his latest arrest, Eastep was on community service in four Bryan municipal court cases. According to online records, he was also arrested October 20th for drug possession and driving with an invalid license with prior convictions. Eastep is also awaiting three trials in various Brazos County courts on misdemeanor and traffic charges.

Bryan police seized what they believe to be nearly $27,000 dollars of cocaine. 42 year old Christopher Palomares of Bryan is out of jail on bond following his arrest for possessing the nearly two pound brick that was found in a tool box. According to the arrest report, Palomares and the tool box were in the backyard of a home near the corner of South College and Lake Street. The officers were next door to arrest a woman on a Harris County warrant charging her in an unrelated case with theft between $30,000 and $150,000 dollars.

A Huntsville man remains in the Brazos County jail following his arrest Tuesday afternoon by College Station police on charges of stealing two guns and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. According to the arrest report, someone in the parking lot of Post Oak Mall watched 28 year old Sammy Kimble burglarize a vehicle. The witness then followed Kimble’s SUV as it left the mall and headed south on the freeway. CSPD stopped Kimble in the area of the freeway and Nantucket. A nine millimeter pistol was recovered. There was no mention in the arrest report of a second weapon that was listed in online jail records. The arrest report did not state if the victim’s vehicle was locked. Kimble remains held on bonds totaling $100,000 dollars.
