Thanksgiving in the Brazos Valley is Back

Thanksgiving in the Brazos Valley is back.

Organizers say a flood of community support followed last Friday’s announcement of cancelling this year’s serving of 1,200 meals.

Food preparation will be done at Texas A&M by their private food service provider. Chartwells will also host volunteers and help get meals to those who need them.

And Conlee-Garrett Moving and Storage will assist in organizing volunteers and registering names of those being served.

November 12, 2014

To all of our friends across the Brazos Valley,

Recently Epicures announced that our annual “Thanksgiving in the Brazos Valley” would have to be cancelled due to some extenuating circumstances.

Within days of releasing the press release, a flood of support from the community has brought this great tradition back.

For the 31st year, Thanksgiving in the Brazos Valley will deliver meals to anyone who might not otherwise have access to a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.

We are proud to announce the addition of Phillip Garrett at Mayflower Moving and Storage along with Chartwells at Texas A&M to this project.

Chartwells has offered to not only assist with food preparations, but will also host the volunteers and help get meals to those who need them. Phillip Garrett and his group at Conlee-Garrett will assist in organizing volunteers and registering names of those being served.

We are in need of volunteers for this worthwhile event. Without all or volunteers to help prepare, plate, and deliver the meals every year, this tradition would not have survived over 30 years.

For any questions, please contact Danny Morrison at 979-695-0985, Phillip Garrett at Conlee-Garrett Moving & Storage 979-255-3310, or Marc Cruz at Chartwells 979-218-1191.

Our sincerest “Thank you” to everyone involved to help continue this great Thanksgiving tradition.
