Texas Renaissance Festival Opens Following A Friday Afternoon Fire

The Texas Renaissance Festival will be open this weekend, following a fire Friday afternoon that resulted in three booths being lost and two others damaged but saved.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Festival staff assisted volunteer firefighters from Todd Mission, Plantersville/Stoneham, Whitehall, Tri-County, Rolling Hills, and Magnolia.

News release from the Texas Renaissance Festival:

A fire was reported at the Texas Renaissance Festival at approximately 2:30 p.m. on October 9 and has been extinguished.

Todd Mission, Plantersville/Stoneham, Whitehall, Tri-County, Rolling Hills, and Magnolia Volunteer Fire Departments responded to control the fire in addition to TRF staff on site. Three booths (#63, #64, #65) were lost, and two booths were damaged but saved near the Polish Pub area of the festival.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The festival plans to open as scheduled for the second weekend of the 46th season tomorrow.
